Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides individualized nursing care to patients and families in a Rheumatology Specialty Clinic. Care is delivered according to the nursing process and the medical plan of treatment in an outpatient clinic setting for patients with chronic and complex rheumatologic conditions.

Department: Rheumatology
Schedule: First Shift (Day Shift)
Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
Provide safe, compassionate, and individualized nursing care to patients and families.
Assess patient clinical status, including growth, development, and psychosocial needs.
Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with providers and the interdisciplinary care team.
Triage patient telephone calls and accurately document findings and actions.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
Evaluate patient responses to care and modify nursing plans as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing care, medical plans, education, prescription refills, and patient communications.
Assist with clinic workflow, including rooming and discharging patients when needed.
Participate in clinic meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development activities.
Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold professional nursing standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
Current BLS certification required.
Advanced life support certification must be obtained within two years of hire. Additional certifications may be required by the department.
