Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assists with patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing all duties in accordance with the Tennessee Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing (Associate degree required)
- Completion of an advanced pharmacology course
- Active LPN license in the State of Tennessee
- BLS certification required
- One year of hospital experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and report changes to the RN in a timely manner
- Assist with developing and updating nursing care plans each shift
- Assist physicians with therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within scope of practice
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families
- Monitor, evaluate, and document patient responses to care
- Collaborate professionally with the healthcare team
- Meet unit and hospital quality and safety standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and assist with emergency lifting up to 150 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and use of computers
