This role is responsible for the delivery and coordination of high-quality nursing care for critically ill patients through the effective use of the nursing process. The Registered Nurse manages patient care in a fast-paced critical care or telemetry environment, supervises licensed and unlicensed staff, and collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and timely patient outcomes.
The nurse is expected to prioritize and delegate patient care appropriately, monitor patient conditions closely, and respond efficiently to changes in patient status. Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to telemetry and critical care patients using the nursing process
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
- Supervise and support licensed and unlicensed personnel
- Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care delivery
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of prior Telemetry nursing experience required
- Previous ICU or CCU experience preferred
- Completion of a Critical Care course or update prior to hire/transfer or within six months
Licenses & Certifications
- Current California Registered Nurse license
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications
- Basic EKG course or minimum 80% passing score on exam during orientation
- Completion of a 12-lead EKG course prior to hire/transfer or within 12 months
