This position is available on a full-time, part-time, or PRN basis, with flexible scheduling options that include day, evening, night, and extended shifts (7:00am–3:00pm, 3:00pm–11:00pm, 11:00pm–7:00am, 7:00am–7:00pm, and 7:00pm–7:00am).
Atlantic Shores Retirement Community is seeking compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our care teams across Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Care units. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about resident-centered care, teamwork, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility
- Support residents with repositioning, transfers, ambulation, and prescribed exercise programs
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical condition, behavior, or mood to the nursing staff
- Measure and record vital signs and accurately document care provided
- Provide emotional support and promote comfort, dignity, and independence for residents
- Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized resident environment
- Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests
- Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines at all times
- Work collaboratively with nurses, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
- Participate in training, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives as required
Requirements & Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from a state-approved program
- Active registration as a CNA in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of CNA experience preferred (newly certified CNAs are welcome to apply)
- Ability to provide compassionate care to residents with diverse physical and cognitive needs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Dependable, positive attitude with a commitment to service excellence
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist residents throughout assigned shifts
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive hourly pay with shift differentials
- Overtime pay at 1.5x for hours worked over 40 per week
